You must try to choose the most suitable journal according to your field of research and the type of study you are going to conduct (prospective / retrospective study, randomised controlled trial, clinical trial, study of diagnostic accuracy, systematic review and meta-analysis, observational study…). Whatever the type of study, pay close attention to the journal’s impact factor: the higher, the better!
In a given year, the impact factor of a journal is the number of citations (in all journals), per paper published in that journal, during the two preceding years divided by the number of articles published by that journal in the same period. It is a very good indicator of the importance of a journal within its field.
Vous devez essayer de choisir la revue la mieux adaptée en fonction de votre domaine de recherche et du type d’étude que vous allez mener (étude prospective / rétrospective, essai contrôlé et randomisé, essai clinique, étude de test diagnostique, revue systématique et méta-analyse, étude observationnelle…). Quel que soit le type d’étude réalisée, prêtez une attention toute particulière au facteur d’impact de la revue : plus il est élevé, mieux c’est !
Le facteur d'impact est le rapport entre le nombre de citations (dans toutes les revues) pendant une année des articles parus dans une revue donnée les deux années précédentes et le nombre d'articles publiés dans cette même revue pendant ces deux années. C’est un très bon indicateur de l’importance d’une revue dans son domaine.
